2020 GLOBE Virtual Regional Meeting for Europe and Eurasia
October 26 - 29, 2020 | Online
The meeting was a great opportunity to meet other members of the GLOBE community: country coordinators, teachers, scientists, and students.
“Even though we did not meet in person it was an amazing experience and provided a great opportunity for new collaboration.” Those are words of one of the 240 participants of the GLOBE Program Europe and Eurasia Meeting. The event is organized annually, however this year it was the first time we went completely online. As many participants agreed, the virtual format allowed many more teachers, students, trainers and scientists to join. They represented 32 countries both from and outside of the Europe and Eurasia Region.

About Europe and Eurasia Regional Meeting
The GLOBE Europe and Eurasia regional meeting and training is hosted every autumn in one of the countries of the Europe and Eurasia region. It is a time for the GLOBE community members – country cooordinators, teachers, scientists, and students to meet and exchange experience.
The 2020 meeting will be organised online, so that all participants can join from the safety of their homes. We regret not having the opportunity for us all to meet in person. However, an online meeting is a great opportunity to see each other and learn a a lot about GLOBE without travel costs and CO2 emissions.
About the GLOBE Program
The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program is an international science and education program that provides students and the public worldwide with the opportunity to participate in data collection and the scientific process, and contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the Earth system and global environment.
There are more than 36000 GLOBE schools in 123 countries around the world. Over 10 million students have participated in GLOBE contributing more than 177 million measurements to the GLOBE database for use in their inquiry-based science projects.
